General
The MIDI relay controller takes MIDI note on/off messages and
converts them into
relay opening/ closures. It is used to provide MIDI control for
units that do not have
MIDI but respond to contact closures, such as Mini Disk, CD and
cassette players
Operation
The unit is programmed via MIDI, which is used to set the length
of time the relays are
open, variable from 15ms to 2 seconds. Each relay is programmed
and operates
independantly. The relays can also be programmed to open on receiveing
the note on
message, and close when the note off message is received.
Each relay responds to a different MIDI note. The note the first
relay responds to is
programmable, and the other 15 relays then respond to the next
15 ascending MIDI
numbers.
The relays can be programmed to be normally opened or normally
closed.
The programming mode is locked and unlocked via MIDI, stopping
the unit being
accidently 'programmed' by spurious MIDI data.
The MIDI channel the unit responds to is set from the front panel. |
