Yes, unless you use VHF equipment on the licence-exempt channels
173.8, 174.1, 174.5, 174.8 and 175.0MHz. You can use up to four
of these together, 174.8MHz is generally left out as it tends
to interfere with one or more of the others. Your equipment must
have a maximum radiated power of 10mW for both handheld and lavallier
transmitters.
As a hire company, we have both UHF and VHF shared frequency
licences which cover 14 channels in UHF Ch69 and 15 channels
in the VHF spectrum, 11 of which can be used together. These
cover equipment up to a maximum radiated power of 10mW for handheld
and 50mW for lavallier transmitters.
These licences are used by our customers and the cost of them
is built into the hire charge. You should get an SAP3 form to
confirm that you can use these frequencies.
If you require more than this number of frequencies, it is possible
that the venue you are using has a licence for some that can
be used with the shared frequencies. Otherwise, you will need
to contact JFMG (the Joint Frequency Management Group)
to obtain more licences. Their number and other details are available
on our links page. If you are hiring
from us, we will undertake to organise this for you if you wish.
